I've been friendly with the Kronos Quartet since my record store days and was thrilled to collaborate with them. Gary L. Baker and I made a short film to accompany the world premiere of Beyond the Golden Gate. Visually, we were inspired by Norman McLaren's groundbreaking film Pas de Deux (1968).
