You can expect delicious and healthy meals created by a seriously world-class private chef, our amazing captain (who is a knot nerd like us), and the company of good people like yourself.
I add different knots and projects to my teaching portfolio each time, so there’s always something new to learn, and will focus on beautiful objects that you can take home with you. I aim for a balanced combination of focused knot learning, time to work on your own projects, and time to enjoy the natural beauty of the sea and the experience of sailing.
Q: I’m traveling solo. Can I book a double cabin for myself?
A: Absolutely! Folks do this often.
Q: I want to bring my partner or friend who isn’t interested in the knotting workshop. Will they be bored?
A: I’ve found that partners and friends have just as delightful a time on the boat as us workshoppers. Sailing on a 50’ catamaran is divine! The boat is big enough for private relaxation when one doesn’t feel like being social, and of course ample opportunities for swimming and paddling. And Captain Ross loves letting people take the wheel and drive the boat.
Q: I’m not a great swimmer?!
A: Oh, me neither. I have a fear of deep water, so my method is to tie a standup paddleboard to the boat with a 20’ line, and float. It feels super safe and I get to enjoy the water in my own way. This is *your* vacation, so I want you to enjoy it your own way.
Q: What’s it like being on the boat?
A: Glad you asked! Here are some snapshots of my last workshop in French Polynesia:
